MANA CONTEMPORARY PRESENTS STUNNING EXHIBITION OF FURNITURE AND SCULPTURE BY ILANA GOOR

Jersey City, N.J., December 20, 2013- Mana Contemporary is proud to present an exhibition of bronze sculpture and furniture by noted Israeli artist Ilana Goor. Throughout her career, Goor has worked in a variety of media including wood, fabric, clay, bronze, glass, found objects, gold, silver and plexi-glass. The artist’s visual language elegantly spans the area between art and design and reflects many biographic and historic sources.

The self-titled exhibition at Mana displays several decades of Goor’s organic bronze jugs, unique jewelry, furniture and light fixtures that range stylistically from elegant minimalist to massive industrial, with a few Surrealist fantasies. “All art must come from the heart and be made with passion,” said Goor.

Ilana Goor was born in Tiberias, Israel. Her work has been shown in many international galleries and museums including the California Museum of Science and Industry in Los Angeles, The Israel Museum in Jerusalem, the Tel Aviv Museum of Art (where she was given a retrospective exhibition in 2006), the Museum of 20th Century Art in Vienna, among many others. This exhibition will take place in Mana Contemporary’s new second floor gallery.

Ilana Goor is on view from January 12 to February 14, 2014. An opening party will be held from 1-6 p.m. on Sunday, January 12. The event is free and open to the public, and free transportation from Manhattan will be provided.
