The music of Nhafa blends Middle Eastern traditions with elements of modern Western music. This unique fusion was born out of a desire to bring the melodies of the Maqam world together with Western harmonies, in original arrangements by the ensemble members.
The group’s unconventional choice of instruments – Kanun, Oud, Clarinet, Bass and Drums – creates a distinctive sound palette in the local scene, leading the audience on a sweeping journey that reconnects to the roots while bridging cultures and emotions.
Nhafa presents soft and groovy, melodic, and harmonic music that touches the full spectrum of emotions.
