The Robert Anchipolovsky Quartet: A Tribute to Sonny Rollins
Thursday | May 7
The Robert Anchipolovsky Quartet presents a special concert program dedicated to one of jazz’s greatest giants, Sonny Rollins. This evening is not merely a performance of well-known pieces, but a deep musical dialogue with Rollins’ legacy — vibrant, energetic, and contemporary.
Sonny Rollins’ music represents an entire era in jazz history. As one of the greatest tenor saxophonists of all time, he transformed the way we understand improvisation, form, and sound. His distinctive tone, rhythmic freedom, and boundless creativity continue to inspire generations of musicians worldwide. The program will feature compositions associated with Rollins alongside jazz standards, through which his unique style emerges – a blend of bebop, blues, Caribbean rhythms, and bold harmonic choices.
