Israeli artists Nadia Gorenstein and Lior Kesem-Hamama create, each in her own way, a fantastic world of images, embodying them in on of a kind dolls, sculptures and assemblages, illustrations, ceramics, wood carving and forging – a world in which soft and hard materials are combined with various creative techniques. Passion for magic and mystery is a driving force in the works of both artists. Desires and prohibitions, tenderness and gentleness and, at the same time, explosive force, power and sexuality define the subtext of the original dolls and totem sculptures. The works of Nadia and Lior intertwine in unexpected ways and incorporate with the unique eclectic collection of the Ilana Goor Museum, breaking the boundaries between artistic styles, periods and genres and expanding generally accepted ideas about art.
