Thursday | 04.09.25 | Jason Rosenblatt Trio
Jason Rosenblatt offers an intriguing take on blues, roots, and early jazz. With sounds inspired by Mississippi and New Orleans, Rosenblatt’s original repertoire is performed with good humor.
Rosenblatt is a composer, producer, pianist, and one of the world’s leading harmonica players using the diatonic harmonica technique. His performances with the modest instrument have helped break new musical ground for the harmonica – an instrument traditionally associated with blues – expanding it into diverse art forms such as jazz, bluegrass, klezmer, and Turkish rythms.
Best known for his work with Montreal based group Shtreiml, Rosenblatt distances himself from the band’s Eastern European influences and instead draws inspiration from the powerful sounds of the Mississippi. With shades of Dr. John, Professor Longhair, and Jelly Roll Morton, Rosenblatt offers a unique perspective on American blues, roots, and gospel.
