Michel Platnic | Living Paintings

Michel Platnic | Living Paintings | Workshop & Lecture Led by the Artist
Before his relocation to the United States, we are pleased to host Michel Platnic for two special events at the museum:
Lecture | Tuesday, June 2 | 6:00 PM
Workshop | Tuesday, June 9 | 6:00 PM
Michel Platnic is known for his original artistic language, combining installation, painting, performance, and video. In his works, he “brings to life” iconic artworks by artists such as Francis Bacon, Egon Schiele, Pablo Picasso, and Edward Hopper, transforming them into “living paintings.”
In his lecture, Living Paintings, he will discuss his creative process, the connection between image, body, and technology, and his exploration of identity and the space between the familiar and the unfamiliar.
Working at the intersection of painting, video, and interactive media, Michel Platnic paints directly onto the bodies of participants while incorporating masks, objects, and mechanical mechanisms into his work.
Recently, two of his works were added to the museum’s collection, and we are delighted to host him for a conversation with the audience, alongside an immersive workshop in which participants themselves will become part of the artwork.
Tickets may be purchased separately for each event or together as a combined ticket — please see the options below.
