The band Sandia (meaning watermelon in Spanish) presents a show of original, innovative, and diverse instrumental music, blending jazz, fusion, and world-ethnic styles.
The performance takes the audience on a captivating musical journey, offering an infectious groove alongside musical depth and complexity. The uniqueness of the show lies in the combination of simplicity and sophistication, as well as a deep expression of emotion and feeling.
The group’s second single, Sabres, won the international Italian competition 7 Virtual Jazz Club. The piece was selected by 38 judges from around the world.
The ensemble performs across the country at festivals and clubs, including the Jerusalem Festival of the Arts, Beit HaAmudim, and more.
Dekel was the saxophonist for Echo in recent years and played with the electronic artist Shtuby.
Shauli, a prizewinner in prestigious classical piano competitions, is also involved in production and vocals.
Shani Dar has performed on a wide range of platforms, from Latin ensembles to classical orchestras.
